Christopher R. Welgos is an associate who focuses his practice in labor, employment and public sector matters. With over twenty years of experience both in private practice and as in house counsel there is very little he has not seen and done in these areas.
Chris has litigated in state and federal courts, as well as before the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, and has practiced before the National Labor Relations Board, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He has represented various municipalities, boards of education and public utilities, providing counsel on routine matters, serving as counsel at public meetings and representing them in litigation.
Both in private practice and in his various in-house roles Chris has advised clients on corporate downsizing, FMLA and FLA leave issues, and employee benefits, including 401(K) and other ERISA matters; drafted employee handbooks, non-compete, confidentiality, non-disclosure and other employment-related agreements; conducted investigations into concerns of sexual harassment, retaliation and discrimination; and provided day-to-day advice to Human Resources departments.
